Dear readers,

It’s hard to believe it’s been over five years since I’ve created this website, partly as a way of coping with COVID isolation, partly, as a way of connecting with like-minded folx around psychoanalysis and social justice.

At first, the name of the website seemed redundant: shouldn’t the practice and theory of psychoanalysis go hand-in-hand with the pursuit of social justice? Unfortunately, this is not the case. This project, was borne out of the need to insist in that connection.

At the time I started this website, I was an immigrant from Uruguay, freshly out of a post-graduate program in NYC and starting my private practice in Manhattan. Five years later, I am writing this post from Uruguay, my homeland, where I have decided to return, partly by choice, partly by seeking refuge from an authoritarian regime.

Through this website, I remain connected with people across the world, participate in on-line and in person events, and hear about the inspiring work some of you are engaging in.

Last month, one of our readers generously covered the WordPress.com subscription renewal cost of $109. Which will be good until August 3, 2027. Your support is very much appreciated. This website has always been a labor of love (and rage) and will continue to be.
