ABSTRACT

This article is an introduction to the special issue of Studies in Gender and Sexuality: On Being Asian in America, a collection of interviews, conversations, and essays featuring the work of Kara Adams, Anne Anlin Cheng, David L. Eng, Shinhee Han, Natalie Chih-lu Hung, Mary Kim Brewster, Jasmine Khor, Ava L. K. Kim, June Lee Kwon, Yin J. Li, Akiko Motomura, Shivani Radhakrishnan, Joseph Reynoso, Jyoti M. Rao, Leilani Salvo Crane, and Jasmine Ueng-McHale. Taken together, this collection of writing aims to portray a historically grounded and psychologically rich depiction of Asian American subjectivities at the current time.
